I think we can both agree that fluency is when you speak with great ease and showing no signs of stuttering (the odd em's etc. doesn't count). What you've said about "no guarantee this method works for everyone" stops a lot of people from even trying. Which is the mentality I've seen from a bunch of people who frequent this subreddit. They see the challenge as being too great to accomplish and stop before they can even start. That's what I'm wanting to change. I want people to become empowered to be in control of their speaking and do something about it. You can have low expectations and it's something I promote in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L6-tbaA94s You say it's unfair for PWS to not settle for less than fluency...I feel if anybody wants to overcome an issue they have, they can't settle for less. All I know is there's too many frustrated people in this world that want to do something about their stutter - but don't know what to do or where to go to learn. It's a lifelong process to gain, and maintain, control over your speaking. So you must become relentless in your quest to overcome your stutter. Just don't tell me that, generally speaking of course, you're happy with the way things are when your stutter causes you grief and hard times.
