Acceptance… PhD/disabled combat veteran/Native grant writer with 20 years experience… No matter my intellect, experiences, or accomplishments… I am still discounted for my speech. I had so many faux “social justice warriors” say things to my face like “I just can’t handle you today.” I also was a mandatory reporter for a professor who was Weinstein-ing students. After he was fired, he took the university to federal court and I was deposed. In the course of that, I was able to order my FERPA files, including any email about me from anyone in the university… What a mistake. I finally read what others (including staff and “friends” truly think of you and your speech). They make jokes and bristle at all the extra effort that “accommodations” require of them. I got to see how the “sausage” was made and see where we (or at least I) was viewed in the “safe space” of a “modern” institution. I could have taken them to court and probably would have bankrupted myself trying to out-lawyer a billion dollar university. Not worth it. Never going back to that monument to hypocrisy.
