I work at a place with an "H" as the first sound in the company name and I fuck it up all the time. Obscenely hard name for me to say more than 75% of the time, I'd say. I've even had the same thoughts like "why does the one job that suits my interests have to be at a company with this godforsaken name?" We have a silly little jingle tune on some adverts and I've found saying the company name in a somewhat similar sing-song voice drastically reduces the tension I have when saying it, making the chances of fluency much higher for me on that particular word. I've spoken to other stutterers who tap their hand on their leg to keep a cadence of sorts, this can help as your voice can fall into a rhythm subconsciously while speaking. Big deal if you sometimes sound a little sing-song-y, people can build a bridge and get over it. Quitting may be helpful in the short term, but those hard words and sounds will follow you forever, at any job. It's a band aid to a problem that you are fully capable of improving! I'm 27, went to speech therapy for most of my childhood and teen years, and still have bad stuttering days all the damn time (and mostly with the people I'm most comfortable around, which is hard to deal with). I'll echo what others have commented and say that, from experience, doing your damndest to push forward is the best idea, I think!
