Going inside just after opening and a little bit before closing and asking to speak with the manager are the best ways to get hired. Bypass the online application/corporate bs and get straight to the person who wants to hire people. Locally owned/smaller restaurants and businesses are easier to get hired in. A stutter is more likely to be forgiven if you apply for a food prep, dish washer, etc job though.
