Any speech therapy I can look into? I was just assigned to be a teacher assistant in the upcoming semester. I’m new to this school, to this city, and I’m an alien. If I want to earn some respect, I better not mess up my speech, too much. Also I’m going into a profession where 90% of the time is presenting and communicating with the group. I’ve been trying my best to fix my speech myself, like reading out loud, be more confident, talk slower, talk to Alexa etc etc. I am so much better than before, at least I have no problem with ordering drinks now, but I don’t know whether I’m ready to step into the new shoes. My mentor suggests me to take speech therapy, she is aware of my “speech problems”, because I never specified that what I have is stuttering. I took one speech class a long time ago, it is a public speaking class for children, and not designed for stuttering in anyway. I don’t know where to start looking in the States. Any suggestions?
