Non-stutterers speak whenever they have intention to say a word. In other words, they don't speak on the timing of an outside rhythm, rather they speak on the timing of their own intention to say a word. I recommend to practice this when reading Dr. Seuss. Firstly, I want to explain that there are two elements in maintaining fluency: 1. focusing on maintaining the forward flow (e.g., by focusing on fluency laws, like prosody or rather by focusing on the timing of your intention to say a syllable) 2. resisting disruptions in the forward flow **Conclusion**: You mentioned that you will focus more on prosody. This is great. Additionally, when PWS focus on prosody we still experience anticipation, fear, not calm breathing and other aspects of the [stutter cycle](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stutter/comments/12mr71i/what_improves_your_stuttering_the_most/). All these aspects could disrupt the forward flow of speech. There are 100s of helpful strategies for #1 and #2. An example of a strategy for #2 is: * allowing speech errors in the phonological encoding without needing to correct them * allowing anticipatory fear and really experiencing anticipatory fear to build tolerance and detach importance, while always breathing calmly regardless without doing avoidance-behaviors (like holding back speech or changing the speech plan)
