So you’re aware that it’s not the stutter itself that’s causing the biggest problem, it’s the panic and the focus on your stutter that’s preventing you from thinking about your answer. I think you can work with that… it takes mindfulness and practice. In normal life when you’re talking to people, practice being aware of the present moment and remembering to not panic when you stutter, but instead relax. When you have a mindset of forcing yourself not to stutter, you will get tense and panicky, and only stutter more. When you relax and allow the stutter to happen without freaking out, you will actually stutter less. It takes a LOT of practice and mindfulness though. You have to be able to remember this *in the moment when you’re actually speaking*, or else you will just follow your habit which is to tense up and panic when you stutter.
