Throwaway. Software Developer and general IT Consultant. Anywhere from $90k to $180k per year, depending on the economy. I'm also launching a line of nutrition bars on the side. On most days I'm a severe stutterer and can't put together a sentence. I communicate if I really have to via email, and not ashamed to block severely in front of a person or crowd. Companies and customers pay you to produce value and results. Unless you're a professional speaker (which the vast majority of the population is not), they don't pay you to talk, and surely they don't pay extra for you not to stutter. I've even been (secretly) asked to attend meetings on behalf of my manager, because I minimize the chatter and keep it straight to the point, without trying to act as a salesman. The one time I actually got paid more for stuttering. I assure you at the end of the day, if your employer is thinking about you, it's because you've either created or solved their problems, not because you happen to block while speaking.
