Focus on the positives. You’ve had 100% success rate so far. Also your goal is not to say your name. The goal is to attend a meeting and express whatever the meeting is about. Too often we focus on words we might not be able to say and now our goal is to become fluent in that scenario. You need to get away from that mindset. It’s difficult, I know, but it’s self sabotage to worry about fluency. I’m trying hard to move away from this, and it’s been helping massively when speaking on the phone. If I’m hungry and want to order food, then my goal is to get food, it is not to say ‘Pizza’ fluently. So I tell myself, ‘I’m phoning to get food’ repeatedly. Drown out the incessant negative thoughts or mechanisms/strategies to get a word out smoothly. If your intent is to speak fluently, you’ll never do it. That’s the paradox.
