Hey, sorry for the late reply -- I don't visit here often. Indeed, I have taken on weight lifting again and have noticed my speech regression immediately. I think it's mostly due to overtraining/lifting too heavy. _I think_ (though I'm not so sure), that lifting lighter has helped me a lot. I always used to feel (temporary) negative effects on my speech even from cardio-based sports, though. When I began lifting I had this desire to retrain my breathing patterns to be resilient to effects of weight-lifting, and while I can't say that I got completely used to them, I do think that it's slightly better than in the beginning. I'm curious to hear about the experience of your acquaintance too.
