Personally, find that I need to prepare a bit but when I prepare excessively I become too focused on what I should say and makes it makes me more focused on my speech. I always try to engage in conversation before the presentation to get warmed up and try to turn the presentation into a wider discussion, if that makes sense? It makes it more natural and removes me as the sole focus.
