I worked in Retail from 14-18 and my stutter was was pretty bad for the first year or so. Until i turned sales into a game. If i was having an honest conversation with a customer i would stutter. So i decided to make my goal to sell as much stuff as possible to every customer if they needed one item i would tack on more and more stuff until they declined. If they had children i would talk to them directly because i don't stutter with kids often idk why. But with kids i could make sales to parents without having to play that game. The game helped me to not stutter at all at work and got me allot of bonus's over the years. I was able to talk to managers and even owners on some occasions by playing the game trying to beat them. I know it Sounds dishonest making a customer your opponent. But i found it helps allot. I try not to bring that into my personal life because its not the real me. But if i get stuck in public situations now like speaking to a crowd or entertaining at a party i just tell myself I'm playing the game on a social level. But its not fun because i get no personal enjoyment from it. Try it if you want it helped me, it could help you too.
