Would stammering with shorter hair be more awkward?

Would stammering with shorter hair be more awkward? This is weird question but listen. I (16M) have hair to my chin and I noticed I don't feel that uncomfortable stammering in class when I can't see others from my hair, and others probably cannot see my jaw wide open. When I was 14-15 I was rocking bald hairstyle and I really liked it. But I can't recall how awkward was it for me to stammer. So I guess my question is, is it better to keep hair for protecting me from strange looks or to just shave it all, cause I can't stand all that hair care.
