NLP Anchoring helped me Hello r/stutter. I'm a stutterer and browsing reddit since a while but it's my first time to post there. Just wanted to share a method who helped me a lot. You can google "NLP Anchoring" for more details but basically when feeling down about my stuttering I dig into my memories and remember a scene where I DID stutter but was feeling really good, or when I was talking fluently and feeling also good. I try at best to feel the same emotions, to feel it like if it's what's happening right now. At first I was a bit skeptical and too lazy to practice it but it's helping me. Right now I don't feel bad about my stuttering as before. The goal is to make a link between stuttering and feeling good. This method didn't really decreased my stuttering (maybe by 10% due to less anxiety ?) but it helps me to stop feeling bad about it. So, in the same reasoning never ever anchor a bad feeling with your stuttering. It's what most of us do and it worsen it. We all know it.
