I am considerably better now than I was as a child. But I was so afraid to speak in public or to my family as a child it had to create some traumatic / stress issues. I can remember being in class and my heart beating so hard due to the threat of having to read aloud that I could not hear anymore. We did that fun thing when each person reads a paragraph aloud, sometimes in order and sometimes randomly. Nightmares...
