*Long version:* Easy answer, but hard to do, is build your confidence up. The more confident you are, the more respect you're going to get. In turn that can make you not care about your stutter as much. I'm 30 years old now. When I was a teenager I cared a lot about what others thought. Now though, I don't. I'm going to speak, and I'm going to stutter, and I'm going to do it confidently. If they make faces, judge, etc at me, so be it, I couldn't care less. Most of the time they don't care (or at least don't show it to me). Managers have told me after hiring me, that they picked me because I stuttered and have held so many stressful high intensity jobs. They viewed it as a huge obstacle I was able to overcome. *Short version*: Build confidence. Stop caring about what people may think of your stutter.
