Listen, I could have written this myself just last year, in reference to everything you said about confidence. I promise. I even have gotten into fights in this sub w someone who kept insisting to *just think positive about stuttering!* Then I discovered something amazing. There are a few ways to sneak around the issue of not being confident. It’s very difficult and uncomfortable at first, but it quickly becomes easier- and talking normally and fluently eventually follows. You also realize what people are actually thinking when you are struggling to speak (concern, confusion, and wondering if they should do anything to help). Without details, you have to DO the opposite of whatever you are naturally doing when you try to talk. You also need to realize that actually, most people regularly talk with repetition/prolongations and other imperfection. PWS have a different issue - we fear what people think so much that we have fear responses *which are the only thing that clumps shut your breathing and vocal chords*.
