You're right to be confused, because stuttering _is_ confusing! It's got so much variance going on, that we never quite know what to expect. If we can at all get used to the idea that it varies so much, I think we might be better off. We won't get as surprised anymore. It's a bit like riding a surfboard, maybe - sometimes there are huge waves, sometimes there are none, but we just have to focus on staying on the board and going where we intended.
