Depends on the severity and your own personality. As someone who is fairly confident but reserved getting a job on tills essentially cured my stutter ironically. My stutter was never severe to the point I couldn't say my name but would definitely impact day to day life and was instantly recognisable (lots of blocks / facial spasms). Sure, the first few shifts were absolutely terrifying but slowly I got more and more at ease with the interaction with strangers. My advice would be to definitely give a job like this a go, as it could have the same effect as it did to me. I still have issues with my stutter but it is far better.
