I didn’t put a huge impact on my stutter a couple years ago but I still felt like it helped me back. Once I started working with doctors PAs and patients that’s when I started to get more self-conscious because I was talking more on a regular basis. I heavily regret giving my stutter more ability and more power. For example in nursing school we have to report while we experience with our patients for the day and that shit is so nerve-racking I always end up sweating but I’m doing it. The biggest thing is I’ve told my clinical instructor I have a mild stutter and what’s the worst thing? I stutter that’s all. Everyone else in my clinical group has heard me stutter who cares. But it’s so hard to get into that who cares mentality because we are so used to people talking so fluently and Perfectly compared to us.
