Has anyone tried reducing their secondary characteristics?

Has anyone tried reducing their secondary characteristics? Mine is unconsciously nodding my head when I say things hard to say. I realise that I do this when talking to my parents which lets me talk freely but in social situations, I just freeze and so that’s why I don’t speak as freely. Has anyone been able to successfully eliminate or just even reduce them? How did you do it?
