Well ASL does heavily use the language areas of the brain. Though I’ve never considered this it doesn’t really surprise me. If there is an issue of language translating from thoughts to physical movement (hands or speech organs) then ASL could potentially be affected as well. Hopefully it was just nerves and you continue to try and use it. It was your first time trying a new language out in the wild, it wasn’t going to be perfect.
