I don’t know if this will help but this way of thinking about it has helped me in my blocks: Blocking is like an unconscious protective mechanism. Somewhere along the way we developed a divided intention, talk/not talk. And we’re only aware of the intention to talk and feel like the block just happens to us. Where in actuality maybe there’s an unconscious fear related to speaking that tells our body to clench up. What helps is to become more aware of that and investigating what happens in your block. A block is like a mini panic attack. When that fear/tension arises we try to get it out of our consciousness and then give in to the compulsion to push through a block. By applying awareness to what’s happening in our body and being fully present, you can begin to untrain the compulsion to push and your automatic unconscious clenching of the body. Easier said than done obviously but it’s helped me. In the past It always felt like I had tunnel vision when I blocked, and feeling completely helpless and scared. When you approach the fear and block with an open awareness, you dissolve it in a way. There are a lot of other blocks similar to stuttering like people who can’t pee in public for example.
