I wish it were something more researched/taken seriously. My son is almost 8 and his stutter came on around age 4/5. We have been in speech therapy and seen countless DRs. Last week at the neurologist I requested a brain scan, even though I’m not a doctor, my sons stutter the way it presents seems as though it’s deeper than just speech. The doctor told me “this wont be covered by insurance because it’s speech related.” I was so frustrated. Speech/communication is one of the most important things? It blows my mind, the lack of knowledge/care/help for this.
