I feel the pain you have right now, I use to work at petco as cashier and had to answer the store phone CONSTANTLY. I hated every second of those phone calls, cause even though I would rehearse to myself at home the lines I was suppose to say when I answered my stutter would still rear it’s head and I would have to say the line like 3 times. You might just tell your manager you’re not comfortable with doing drive through stuff and that you’d rather do something else. But I found myself learning to think of other words on the fly to keep from stuttering and make the calls as short as possible. I like puzzles so doing that has always been a type of puzzle to me and it keeps me on my feet, cause I’ve been able to tell just from the first sentence I say out loud to someone for the day if it’s gonna a bad or good day. Whatever happens I believe in you man, you got this!! Stuttering isn’t for the faint of heart, we’ll never “conquer” our stutter, it won’t just magically disappear, even though that’s all we want haha. Your stutter doesn’t define you, it’s just a roadblock in a long long road filled with roadblocks. All we have to do is move from one to the next and deal with them as they come.
