I don't know how this comes off but this is how I handle it. I don't say out loud that I stutter but I behave normally, I do my word replacement, I have my eye rolls, y'all the table when it gets bad, and as soon as people notice I just let them know I stutter. Now people can let me know one of two ways: they can ask if I'm alright and then it's no biggie and never brought up again or they can pull the Billy Madison routine at which point I guilt trip them incredibly hard and let them know they're mocking a speech disability which shrinks people, especially in groups that know. I have a YouTube channel and I'll edit the really bad stops but in general I stutter, if I was bald I wouldn't wear a toupee. I would rather stutter in public and deal with the occasional asshole than live a life terrified to live
