I was an overexcited confident kid who stuttered. My parents rolled with it. They didn’t finish my sentences (most of the time) and rarely spoke for me in public and with relatives. We hardly mentioned the stutter and I think that was for the best. Some speech therapy at school and always “putting myself out there” was the answer for me. Im much more of a covert stutterer now and most of the social anxiety I experienced was not stutter related. Im sure my parents were worried like you. They didn’t let me know it though and Im grateful for it.
