My first job was in retail and I found that it really help my confidence with my stammer. By putting yourself into this position now, I think you’ll be much more confident going forward. Just remember, even if you stutter in retail you’ll probably never see the customer ever again! I never had anyone make a comment or look at me weirdly :) I work in finance now, and I’ve only ever had one incident. My manager impersonated my stutter once. I later spoke to him and asked him how do you think that made me feel. I also mentioned that stammering is a recognised disability (in UK), he apologised profusely as this could have become a HR issue ;)
