"I used to like the song but now that other people find it offensive I go with the majority." That's a great way to form opinions. Has anyone questioned the band about their personal experience and whether anyone or a connection with a shared experience had a condition? "I can't find the answer on the Internet." is not a valid excuse. The answer here is no, nobody has any evidence either way other than X hasn't said Y about this. Being upset, outraged or otherwise is quite frankly ridiculous at this point. We had a similar situation in the UK decades ago with Gareth Gates, who was accused of having a stutter for stage or sympathy purposes. Turns our he did have a stutter/stammer after all.  Appreciate this was posted several months ago however as someone new to assisting someone with a stutter I would hate for them to come across such close minded people irrespective of ability. Any song or story that allows someone to normalise or talk about their condition is great, especially when such opportunities are lacking.  Do I think this song is the best example? No, but it's hardly offensive nor does it belittle or demean anyone with a stutter.  Good luck going through life with someone with a condition trying to protect them from every variant of implied meaning or simply just a poor characteristic if something so inoffensive upset you. Never thought I'd encounter gatekeepers so early in this journey. Does someone need an ID card?
