A vent post but I wanna know if Anyone relates So I’ve had two years of mandarin like I can write it and I can recognize Chinese characters but I can’t speak it. I’ve studied German for less time than mandarin but I really really wanna go to Germany to do tourism in the castles but if I can’t speak it am I lost cause. If im learning a language but will never speak it with the native speaker is there really any point in learning that language. Sometimes I feel like I’ll forever stay in America and not travel outside of it because I fear I’ll be called stupid not in English but in foreign languages and that really worries me. Does anyone relate and I wanna know if it’s okay how you tried learning a language and speaking with natives along with how’d they respond to your stutter.
