I don't know how old you are, but I think most people experience little to none of that kind of bullying after school as kids grow up and develop empathy. I was bullied and teased in school but this pretty much stopped after I left. Sure, you may get some arseholes but screw them. I've worked in a lot of places where gentle mocking is the norm and you have to learn to take a joke, but there's an unwritten rule that you don't mock someone's disabilities. Anxiety can be deep-seated and is definitely worth working on. Minimizing stress and learning to cope with discomfort also help.
