Freedom, I’m the widow of a retired jet carrier pilot. What did you do in the military? My dear husband received one MS at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey and then earned an MBA after he retired and changed career paths. I’m gratified you managed your military careers well as practicing law despite your stuttering. Were you always a trial lawyer? Were you an attorney during your military service? JAG, etc? How did you manage with stuttering in the military and your legal career? Interestingly, I always feared a career, competing in the mental health field, because I stuttered. I thought my ship had come in when I married , even before graduation, and never HAD to work. My wonderful husband never was embarrassed to introduce me to his Navy peers and always valued me as an individual. I had a mild-moderate stutter and it always shocked others when it manifested because I could be fluent. The shocked, pitying expression on people’s faces still lives with me. Any way, let me know what you think of Dr. Maguire’s videos. Please, post any of your tips for reducing stuttering on the r/stutter site. Best, Sue
