I don't have repetitions either. I either say the word perfectly or I just have a long pause. Sometimes this is a "block" where my larynx just won't cooperate (a part of stuttering) but often I'm just intentionally quiet until I know I can say the word without any problems. I thought the same thing you did until I I went to speech therapy (at age 33) and they were like "you have a pretty typical stutter". It seems that the repetition style of stuttering is simply easier to replicate in movies/TV and that's what everybody (including stutterers like myself) think stuttering is. Finally giving it a name and talking about it has helped me deal with it much better than just shouldering shame and embarrassment about some vague problem that I absolutely hated. Turns out that's not very healthy. Look up "covert stuttering". It's been a real relief to transition from being a covert stutterer to stuttering out in the open. I'm still working on it. Hang in there. Good luck!
