Important post: Just a heads up. Hi everyone, I didn't want to have to make this post but some people on this subreddit have left me no choice. Some people have resorted to spreading lies or just straight up making up facts relating to stuttering. Their claims do not hold up when scrutinized, but they continue to double down. I don't understand what they stand to gain by making shit up. Maybe its financial, maybe its not, I don't really know. Furthermore, if somebody is making claims and they cannot provide references for their statements then they are more than likely just making it up. Books do not count as a reference. One time I saw someone make a claim that wasn't even possible in humans. If somebody is attempting to overwhelm you with a bunch of information, be cautious about trusting what they say. Stuttering doesn't have a lot of research done, but there has been enough promising research such that it is quite easy to spot when somebody is making shit up. In order for us to progress and uncover what's really going on in stuttering we need to build off the current research. Anyway, I am of the opinion that the future is bright and we're all in this dam thing together so we gotta look out for each other. Btw, I have no gain from this, I am just a guy with a neuroscience background that has had developmental stuttering since 3, and I think we deserve better.
