Effective treatment exists for many of us. Speech therapy. Speech therapy often gets a very bad rap. And I 100% understand why. My first experience with speech therapy was in the public schools. It was ineffective. I've read accounts of speech therapy experiences others have gone through, and some of it sounds terrible. But if you can find a speech therapist who specializes in stuttering, fluency is attainable for many of us. There are a lot of different types of speech therapy out there. If you've not found a program that works for you, don't assume that speech therapy can't work for you. Just that you've not found the right program yet. *We may always be stutterers, but that doesn't mean we will always stutter.*
