I do this to get through tough plosives I am blocking on. Imagine the next part of the syllable and move to it even if blocked and that will release the block but still produce the sound. Like "party" you need two syllables par-ty but even in those syllables you're forming two or more mini syllables. "P-ah-rr and t-ee" so if I'm stuck on the 'p" I just move to the next form, "ahh" and the last form always follows"rr". I'm Midwestern so we have long vowels in our accent. YMMV. Breaking a word down into the muscle movements and visualizing them will work wonders. Get good at doing this subconsciously and fast and you fixed your stutter.
