I have been doing this for a month, and it made a drastic change for me. You can give it a try. Breathing from your stomach not lungs, not taking cold water, take luke warm or tap water, and also stretch your neck in the morning. There's a asana in yoga don't remember the name but it requires you to lie on your stomach and your upper body face upwards and you look up and stretch as much as you can (be careful) you can feel your vocal muscles getting stretched and feels like they got open and relaxed.
