Everyday brings a tough situation. I’ll sometimes spend hours thinking about that terrible stutter that slipped up. But honestly, what I do is just embrace it and learn from it. For example, I was talking to a friend this morning and I had a really bad stutter while trying to ask her something. I usually get embarrassed but I’ll soon tell myself “okay, I stuttered pretty badly so I’ll just make sure to use my techniques and to calm myself down. It’s not a big deal.” I also tell myself that I have to be gentle and I’m not perfect and I will for sure have slip ups but that’s something I’ll just have to deal with. It just proves that I have to work extra hard to achieve what I want. People who stutter are actually very strong and they don’t even realize it. We just have to be patient with ourselves.
