Do you have this same issue when you speak?

Do you have this same issue when you speak? Newbie here! Not super sure if this has been brought up beforehand, but I'm incredibly curious. I've struggled with a stutter my entire life. It was really difficult when I was younger, and it always got worse whenever I was nervous. Since I've grown up, it's gotten easier to manage. I went from stuttering in every sentence, to stuttering a few times a day. Here's what I haven't figured out. There will sometimes be a word in my head that I want to use in a conversation. Yet, for some reason, I can't say it. I'll be able to see the word clear as day in my head but my mouth refuses to say it, I can't even get my mouth muscles to move or else I'll just get into a stuttering fit. Most of the time, I just give up and say a different word that I feel as if I can say instead (again, is this normal?) but I know it doesn't have the same effect because it's not the word that I wanted to use. Does anyone else struggle with this? Is there a name for it?
