Many people are taking my words as implying that it's as easy as "just say it." It's not easy. Comedy is hard. Darn near impossible for those of us with a stutter. Instead of repeating a joke, you better be very clever if you want to make people find something funny. I never said anything was possible. A person with the severe stutter isn't well suited to a career as an air traffic controller. What I refuse to accept is the defeatist attitude that I often see in this sub. Some of us have wrongfully concluded that their options are limited in life due to their stutter. And I will say that I perceive many of these attitudes as a lack of effort. Or an unwillingness to try. That they've tried and failed in the past and refuse to try again. They've given up and are resigned to exaggerated limitations. Nothing about having a stutter is easy. It can be brutally hard.
