There are different types of stutters. 1. Repetitions/prolongations that aren't emotionally distressing, and easily transition into the next sound. 2. Repetitions/prolongations that are emotionally distressing. 3. Blocks and avoidance behaviors. If you have 1, then no need for it to be reduced. If you have 2 or 3, then you likely will experience less stress/anxiety and more freedom if you are able to reduce it.
