Yeah, your situation sounds alot like what I went trough. My two cents, (from personal experience, so take this with a grain of salt. Everyone's different and I don't really know you) are that is psychological, not physical, so you can 100% work on it. Specially since you mentioned you have improved to the point where is mostly unnoticeable than noticeable, this is a big thing. My advice (not a doctor, just a random stutter that got way better), is to try to take it a challenge instead of an obstacle. Try and introduce yourself to more people than you're used to. I learned that "sorry, I stutter" is a card that many people feel for, so you can use that when you feel awkward or something. Other tip is to talk to your friends and say like "alright we are gonna practice" and start introducing yourself to them in different ways. I know it sounds weird, but I found that a shift in the mindset really goes far with the stutter (IF is only physiological). It has done wonders for me. Still struggling, but is way lower on the things I worry on a day to day. And the good thing is, the less you think about it, the less it hurts your speech. So, keep on talking! Work on it. I belive you can overcome it and feel great about it later on.
