I’d look at like gay jokes 20 years ago. Lots of people made them who were good people and on some level knew better but it just hadn’t sunk in how wrong that was. Now think of the good people you know who made those jokes and how you still value them. I suspect it might be the same with your friend. Most people simply know almost nothing about stuttering.
