I always wanted to be a writer or go into politics, but I never did because I was self-conscious. Instead, I studied history and wanted to hide behind books and research. I thought I could safely learn about great writers and politicians rather than fail while trying to become one. Little did I know, I would meet a bunch of extroverts at uni who adopted me and helped me grow my confidence. Now, I am a writer! I'm also (almost) a librarian. In both of those careers, I am constantly talking to people and delivering talks and facilitating group discussions - all while freely stuttering! I do sometimes wish I had the confidence to study communications or politics at uni, but I'm so grateful for the journey I went on. I think (or rather, hope) that I still would have ended up where I am today.
