Stutter Coach here, such incidents happened to me in the past & now I don't stutter. i suggest you some precautions before you handle it next time 1. Identify real problem behind your stuttering in that situation. Example - self doubt, anticipation, anxiety, past stuttering experience. It will help you witu understanding real problem. I strongly believe stuttering is not a real problem, it is an output 2. Write your stuttering word & see if you find some pattern like you stutter on word starts with P, K, T etc. every word need different speech muscle to speak Now start understanding the process behind your stuttering. If you don't Stutter when alone then chances are you will speak without stuttering in real life. You need to understand how to create such environment inside mind(like you are alone) in real life My suggestion on name - take first letter of your name for example - your name is John then first letter is Jo. Start practicing at home using mouth streching & see mouth muscle in front of mirror. When someone ask your name next time just try to speak first letter in your name. Best of luck
