I'm of two minds on this subject. On one hand, I worked as a journalist for about a year and regularly made phone calls and conducted interviews. It was often hell (a few instances of getting straight-up mocked but mainly lots of awkward stares), but you know what, it was probably good for me and I'm proud of myself for doing it. I eventually left journalism and have since worked from home, in a position that doesn't require me to talk to anybody. It's pretty freaking sweet, and I often look back on my journalism work and think, "Whew, so glad I don't have to do THAT anymore."
