New member here. Hello there. I've read some posts and it made me feel not so alone, so I'm going to tell my 'story' too. So, I remember talking normally when I was a child, but when I was like idk, 9-10 y/o a little cousin started to come and play at my home with me and he stuttered, but since I was a kid and didn't know what's up I didn't really cared until I just woke up one day and started to stutter too. My god, it was baaaaaaaad at first, always went to the bathroom when we had to read something in class, didn't want to talk and well, my then "friends" just made fun of me when I was forced to read in front of the class. That continue until middle school, there it got a little bit better, I sometimes could read and speak normally but they were days that it was awful, couldn't speak fluently to save my life. Fast forward to now, 23(M), in college; love life has been good for some reason, stutter doesn't really come out when having small chats with friends but idk if it's just me but, I can have really good days where I just stutter like 5% of the day and days that I sound like a damn broken record, but still have managed to keep it in a low profile and no one has noticed, when I HAVE to present something in class they just assume I get nervous. But despite of it all, I still feel really anxious about this, I hate it but after reading this r/ it made me just say "fuck it". So thank you, strangers. I would rate my stutter a 2-3/10 when talking normally with friends, family, etc. And a 5-6 (sometimes more, it depends I guess)/10 when having presentations/public speaking. But I've had good moments too. Ps. may have some grammatical errors, english is my second language.
