How do severe stutterers even get a girlfriend?

How do severe stutterers even get a girlfriend? I'm 28 now, and all of my life I've been harshly rejected due to my crippling stutter, looks, and awkwardness. How does one even go about changing it at this point. I'm talking severe blocking in every single sentence that takes me 2-3x longer to say what I want to say and speech therapy didn't help. It's destroyed my self esteem and left me a hermit essentially relying on the internet for my social interaction. I just feel so left behind in life because I've never experienced any of the coming of age things everyone else around me has. Always been rejected to dances, didn't go to prom, no dates, gf, kiss, sex etc.
