Ive been trying to join the US Marine Corps. I first tired joining June of 2023. I got denied at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) for my stutter. Here I am a year later still trying to get an Exception to Policy (ETP) waiver for it. Even though there is no policy against stutters joining. So yes, it has affected me.
