2 things, a pin and a small notebook. I wear a pin that says “I stutter, please be patient”. People read it before I get the chance to talk 9/10 so now I get less confused faces and questions. On the first page of my notebook I have a pre-written explanation I show that says “I’m struggling with my stutter today so I’m going to write down my responses. Thank you for being patient”. It’s made things somewhat bearable. I still get impatient assholes every once in a while but for the most part people have been very understanding.
